1950s Update - Kitchen Design and Kitchen Furniture

A typical kitchen from the 1950s, endowed with yellow floor tiles and a serving hatch, has to be rehabilitated. The users experiment with devices and techniques used in modern cooking. An existing kitchen block in stainless steel, has to be integrated with the new accommodation.
This new layout preserve elements from the 50s and add modern furniture and a new wall coating, to produce a bright and clear laboratory mood : minimum steel profiles, shelves in lacquered steel and frosted glass. The furniture are clad with chain curtains, which gives a blurred view into the shelves and depth to a narrow room.
A printed ceiling light box create an ideal work light and enhance the ceiling height. The fruit and vegetables reproduced on the image - The users are passionate gardeners - were both produced and cooked by the users themselves.
