The “Blue House” project consists of two parts: the renovation of a half-timbered house from 1730 and a contemporary expansion with your multifunctional room. The client is a regional museum that houses its media library and administration there. The old building was freed from spatial transformations and brought back to the essentials. Non-historical materials have been removed and replaced with the usual historical materials. In addition to the renovation, the task was to make the necessary and extensive modern building technology disappear behind the traditional craft constructions. The result is a calm, timeless building in which the original half-timbered construction and clay plaster dominate.
